'affection is desirable, money is absolutely indispensable', or so says jane austen's mother in the movie. such was the difficulties faced by women back in the day, defenceless and dependable on the men they marry, with decisions on that front made more with merit by the latter as opposed to the former.

should we be more appreciative, then, that in the nearly two hundred years since, things have much changed for women everywhere, where choices are to be made not with the consent of families or decisions made with no considerations of self and desires but are now thwarted with the open-ended array of perceptions, policies and societal norms that begs a more simpler method of choosing ones future.

should this be sought only by matters of emotions and personal preference or should practicalities play a part? should education, morale, religion, and status be the norm of requisite, or should it be plainly justified by love?

answer this, or don't.

i believe that these prejudices, if you may call it, can only help one choose wisely, and at the end of the day, if one marries at all, let it be for love.

haha a serious subject, is it not? funny how hyper i get at night.

toodles?
