gah. wouldn't shawshank redemption be one of those movies that make you go oh my fuck a couple of times when watching even if you've seen the movie half a dozen times? i simply loved it. and watching it again despite having loads to do seems to have set that in stone.
today, as the roomie and i ate in a oft-frequented resto, i noticed a wall-hanging that was there for as long as i remembered, but had a scenery in it of which i probably could not recall if you ask me now but underneath that scenery was what was important. there was a simple line that went "what happens to a man is less significant than what happens within him". that deserved a lot of thought. it was rico's, btw.as i was teasing out some nitty gritties, i noticed that some of our memories we keep aside, but once you unleash yourself and take a look at all of it, it actually all seems pretty spectacular. every experience, every moment, every event. there are so many happy moments nicely shelved and tucked away and we only dwell on the boredom, the unhappiness, the daily stresses. we forget that we actually have these little nuggets, snaps of brighter days, all waiting to be dug out.as usual it sounds a lot like hyperbole. i try :)happy saturday, now.
