my today was like a song. it had its tempo, its melodies. it had also its meanings, deep rooted and not always obvious. but it flowed like it should, and even though many bits were far from perfect, it all glued together perfectly.

it was as if my day was pre-paced. there was the slow morning(afternoon, really), involving languorous lay-ins, unpacking and the enjoying of a cherry scone. there was the rush in the afternoon, trying to do as many things as possible, the tempo upped in preparation for classes and everything else. and at night, the relaxed pace again, plenty of humour and warmth.

its as if when the melody starts to slow or stop and one starts feeling low, something would come along and bring things back up. like when i completed preparing for the first tutorial for tomorrow it dawned on me that there is the 2nd one i have yet to attempt, indicating tons more work. but it is a tuto on STDs, and we all know those are always a little bit more fun.

or when the thought of climbing onto a superpacked bus to ucd when its already dark for a performance studies class and knowing that i have to ready a ritual to perform in class is utterly draining, i ended up doing my Maghrib prayers in the middle of half my class, a lecturer, two tutors and a department head. it was accepted well and shortly discussed, and was a subject for conversation thereafter between some of the girls and i. less can be said about my state of khusyuk-ness during said prayer, seeing as to how i had 15 people watching me in utter silence.

and the realization that a lot of it had meaning. most of which i can't possibly fathom, but ultimately each action has its own devices and repercussions, effects of which i can only see later on, a deeper reflection of a phenotypical expression. like finding meanings to words in song.

admittedly there were oh so many moments where i felt it all tumbling down, but there's always that crescendo-filled chorus at the end ultimately bringing the house down (in a positive note, mind).
