I am aware that it wasn’t a natural thing to do
Skip classes for the last academic week
I spose a significant number of people tend to do that
But still
I just decided that I had enough of classes
And wanted to just study at home. On my own.
I figured that no one would realize that I had disappeared
That I would just be passed off as sumone who just flowed in and out of class unnoticed.
Which usually happens anyway, in a class of 250.
Anyways
Today I met corom for the first time in about two weeks kot
And he just gave me that look
And sed “kalo akue pompuan akue dah peluk ko”
Which is generally whut everyone else did.
Ekin. Sarah. Etc.
N when I passed dudu, she was wondering where I had been as well.
Everyone just sort of assumed that I had been sumwhere
(Perhaps dats an indication dat I tend to skip class and travel to other countries spontaneously)
When in actual fact
I’ve been here all along.
Not in class, perhaps
But here nonetheless
And it gave me this feeling of appreciation
That, like,
U think people don’t care
But at the end of the day
They do
They notice ur presence
Or lack thereof
They might not need you
Or look for u
But when ur not there
They are aware
And that’s the most beautiful thing I’ve experienced today
Friends.
Not the best-buddy
Genuine frens for life kind of frens
But just frens.
I like awareness.
